How to Connect Whirlpool Appliances
Step by Step Instructions
- Download the Mobile App
- Create your own Account
- Select Add Appliance on the Mobile Application
- Scan the QR code from the Appliance Label or manually enter the SAID and MAC.
- On the Mobile Application enter your home router passphrase (if your home router has a choice of frequency bands - be sure to use the 2.4GHz band router name)
- Select next on the Mobile Application
- On the Mobile application observe and wait for the Appliance to indicate that it is connected to the home router, Internet, and Cloud Service
- Upon Success name your appliance and start using its remote features
Stay in control and connect to your Whirlpool smart appliances remotely with an account on the Whirlpool app. Enabling you to send commands, track progress, and access features from your smartphone, tablet, or compatible voice enabled device.
- To start, download the Whirlpool app from the Apple app store or Google Play
- Once installed, open the app and click account and then Account Settings
- Enter your email address and click next
- Enter your first and last name, as well as your phone number and then click next
- Enter your street address and click next
- Shortly after submission you'll receive an email from Whirlpool brand with a link to confirm your account. If you didn't receive the confirmation email, please check your spam folder
- Click the link in the email to complete your account setup
- Return to the Whirlpool app, log in and select add appliance
To start, tap the tools icon located on the bottom right hand side of the appliance LCD touchscreen
Scroll down the options on screen, choose WiFi, and select “Connect to Network.” Then, click “next” to reveal the QR code.
Open the Whirlpool mobile app on your smartphone or tablet, log in, and select “add appliance”
Using Whirlpool’s scan-to-connect technology, scan the QR code displayed on the appliance touchscreen with your smart device
After scanning, it might take a few moments for the app to load instructions for on-appliance setup. Once loaded, do not hit next until the following steps are completed:
On your appliance touchscreen, choose “manually” and “search for network.” Do not select “My network isn’t listed” while the yellow searching icon is on screen. The search for your network might take 1-2 minutes
Once found, select your “Home WiFi” network and enter your case sensitive password - taking notice your appliance touchscreen keyboard defaults to all caps. Then, tap ok.
Network connection could take up to two minutes to be established. When the sync is successful, tap done on the appliance LCD screen
On the Whirlpool mobile app, select “next” to finish the connection process, which can take up to 2 minutes
When pairing is complete, register your appliance by giving it a name, and then tap finish
Congratulations on completing the setup, and enjoy your appliance and its smart features and remote control

Remember to press remote enable before using these features and to re-enable after opening and closing your appliance door.

Make sure the appliance is powered on.
Tip: Connecting to your wireless home network requires you to stay next to your appliance during this process and that there is adequate WIFI signal strength at the desired location.
Download the WhirlpoolTM Mobile App and create an account.
On the appliance, press the Remote Enable button.
Verify the appliance screen shows “Use the WhirlpoolTM Mobile App to set up WiFi.”

Make sure the appliance is powered on.
Confirm language by pressing Start (or follow the prompts to select another language).
Download the WhirlpoolTM Mobile App and create an account.
On the appliance, press the Start button to begin WiFi setup.
Verify the appliance screen shows “Use the WhirlpoolTM Mobile App to set up WiFi.”
CONNECT WITH THE APP
Ensure your mobile device is connected to the wireless network you wish to connect the appliance to.
Tip: You must be on a 2.4gHz network frequency, 5gHz will not work. Please connect your phone to the Network SSID that supports 2.4 GHz band. If unsure consult your router’s support documentation to find out how to identify the correct SSID. Some routers will support both bands and share the same SSID and Password.
Open the WhirlpoolTM Mobile App. Select Add Appliance. The app will search for nearby appliances, be sure to stay close to your appliance.
Tip: Mobile device must have Bluetooth and Location Services ON. Be sure to allow permissions for both when opening the app for the first time.
When found, select the appliance you are trying to connect.
Tip: If no appliance is found, check that the appliance is in the right mode (see above). Otherwise, follow the Help path in the app.
Press Pair in the App.
Confirm the numerical code matches in app and on the appliance. When prompted, confirm pairing in the App by selecting Pair and confirm pairing on the appliance by pressing Start.
Tip: You must confirm the pairing on both the mobile App and the appliance to continue.
Enter your home network password. Press Next.
Upon success, name your appliance and select Done.
Open the Whirlpool app, login, and select “add appliance”
Using your smartphone or tablet, scan the QR code displayed on the white rectangular SAID label found on the inside door panel of your appliance
Check that your router supports 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) networks. Connection will not work with a 5 gigahertz (GHz) network.
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same WiFi network you wish to use for your appliance. If dual band, choose the 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) network, then tap “begin” to start.
Select your network, enter the password for your home WiFi network, tap “done” and “next”
Find the “connect” button located near the bottom right of the touchscreen panel on your microwave. Press the “connect” button twice. When the WiFi icon starts blinking, press “okay” in the Whirlpool app on your smart device.
When prompted, tap “join” to initiate connection to your microwave. Connection to the router can take up to two minutes to complete. When complete, the panel on your microwave will display “Appliance Connected”.
Congratulations, register your appliance by giving it a name and tap “finish” to complete the setup process. Enjoy your appliance and its smart features via remote control.
Remember to press remote enable before using these features and to re-enable after opening and closing your appliance door.

Check your router for each of the following:
- Frequency Band: 2.4GHz Band IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
- Security: Security WiFi Protected Access WPA2
- Network Support: IPV4 Minimum.
All appliances with keyboard touchscreen LCD displays can be connected to the home router directly on the appliance keyboard touchscreen displays.
For all other appliances you will need the following:
- The Smart Appliance ID (SAID) located on the SAID label.
- The Appliance MAC address located on the SAID label.
- A laptop or tablet with a browser window.
- Position yourself and your laptop or tablet close to the appliance
Step by Step:
- On your laptop or tablet look in your WiFi network settings for a network with the Appliance MAC address in the name …._88_E7_12_………. (if you don’t see it jump to the note at the bottom “How to get my appliance to Beacon”)
- Select the WiFi network with you appliance MAC in it.
- You will be prompted to enter a passphrase. Enter the last 10 letters/numbers of your appliance’s SAID (the SAID will start with a 3 or a 4, and contains upper case letters)
- Upon successful connection to the appliance network, open a browser window on the laptop or tablet and enter the following in the URL line: 192.168.10.1
- The appliance will present a web page.
- On the web page, select your home router name from the pull down list of local routers.
- On the web page, enter your home router passphrase.
- On the web page, select “Go” - at this point the appliance will disconnect from your laptop or tablet and attempt to connect to your home router. Close your browser.
- It may take up to two minutes for the appliance to connect to your home router and then the internet and the server - in order to see if the appliance successfully connected, go to your laptop or tablet WiFi network settings and see if the Appliance MAC address network name is present ….._88_E7_12_… if it is not in the list after several minutes then it has connected to the home router. If it is in the list, the appliance failed to connect to the home router (check to see if the home router passphrase was entered correctly).
- Now you will need to claim your appliance see the FAQ “I have connected my appliance before I set up my mobile application”
- Find the SAID Label on the appliance
- If the first number in the SAID is a 3 - Press and hold the Connect key for 15 Seconds (this will delete any network settings and the appliance will begin to Beacon its MAC address shortly afterwards.)
- If the first number in the SAID is a 4 - Press the Connect key once - this will place the Appliance into a Beacon mode. If the appliance does not start Beaconing it’s MAC address, then it may need to have it’s existing network configuration deleted - press and hold the Connect key for 15 seconds to clear the previous network settings, wait 15 seconds, then press the connect key once to get the appliance to start Beaconing.
