Not 1 Star I bought this from Best Buy in November 21 for this project.(RETURN POLICY 15 DAYS) Trying to install in an IKEA kitchen. American cabinets have a void in the bottom when the hood is installed. IKEA does not have avoid. no recirculation. 15" from the back covers the vent plate totally. Working on finding installation data, no help from Whirlpool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CircuitWizardry from Flawed Design! Range Hood looks nice when installed. The LED light are nice. The reason for a range hood is to draft smoke and steam away from the rangetop. The design of this hood puts the suction of the fan only over the left hand side. It has barely adequate draft from the left side, and there is no draft from the right. It is able to hold a single piece of toilet paper up on the left side... and it can't hold that up on the right side. An abysmal design. I'm done with Whirlpool... it is fitting their range hood can't suck up a piece of toilet paper on the right hand side, because their design is pure @rap!

I cook quite a lot and have had all kinds of range hoods, from the cheap ones under a microwave all the way up to professional ones. This one is a piece of junk, and I guess we get what we pay for. The price is great but the product can`t even suck vapor from boiling water, it`s super weak. To make it even worse, the fan is positioned on top of the left side only, so the right side is 0% suction power, and the left side is probably 20% since it`s very weak. It also sounds like a gigantic airplane turbine in your kitchen when on max speed (which is the one I`m using when measuring its weakness.) I called whirlpool and they say there`s nothing they can do about it, that I could try and sell on ebay then buy a different one. Couldn`t care less about my feedback as a customer. So yeah, I`m buying a different brand.
