How to properly clean and maintain your range depends on the model and design. To clean a glass electric stovetop, wait for the surface to cool completely then wipe up spills and smudges with a clean, damp cloth. Dry with a clean, dry cloth. For cooktops with gas burners and grates, wait for the grates to cool completely and then remove them from the cooktop.
