What are pedestals for washer and dryer?

Washer and dryer pedestals are platforms or risers installed under front-load washers and dryers to raise them off of the floor and increase the height of the door. Laundry pedestals come in a range of sizes, including options from Whirlpool between 10 and 15.5 inches tall. Whirlpool® Washer and Dryer Pedestals also feature large storage drawers to help organize laundry items.
